Main fan for wind tunnel in axial design

We have delivered a main fan for a wind tunnel to a truck manufacturer just south of Stockholm.
The delivered fan is in axial design and has a diameter of 2.2 m and is equipped with a 315 kW motor.

The wind tunnel is used to test the vehicles in different weather conditions and speeds.
Examples of tests carried out in the wind tunnel are:

• Fuel consumption
• Cooling capacity
• Sound levels
• Exhaust emissions
• AC performance
• Optimizations of vehicle control systems

The facility is capable of creating winds between 0-90 km/h in temperatures between +5 – +55 °C.
The delivery took place in 2006 and the fan is manufactured by our partner Witt&Sohn from Germany.
