Bifurcated fan
Bifurcated fans are used in tough environments where a normal axial fan would encounter problems. It can be due to temperatures or particles in the volume flow.
Typical applications can be extraction from an industrial application with high temperatures, handling of gases with acids in them, lacquer boxes or e.g. in a restaurant kitchen with a roasting table.
Depending on requirements, the design of a bifurcated fan can be completely adapted to the customer’s needs.
Description
What are bifurcated fans?
In tough applications such as e.g. high temperatures or movement of corrosive gases, it is not always possible to mount a motor in the volume flow.
The solution for this is the so-called bifurcated fan which is an axial fan where the air flow is divided in a tunnel, which means that the motor is not in the volume stream. It is thereby protected from possible harmful particles or high temperatures.
Our many years of experience and large product range give our customers peace of mind. Development, design and manufacture of fans takes place with the highest precision and with the highest quality materials.
The fans are usually supplied as a complete unit.

About our bifurcated fans
Functions and Benefits
High temperature
Class H engines mounted outside the air stream are not affected by particles. Suitable for elevated temperatures up to 200℃.
Efficient performance
Aerofoil fan wheel with high efficiency and adjustable angle. Fan blades made of high-quality die-cast aluminum.
Corrosion resistance
The fan cover is hot dip galvanized after manufacture to BS 729, providing improved corrosion resistance.
Weather resistance
The fans are adapted for installation outdoors as standard.
Long lifespan
The motor is isolated from hot and polluted air, which extends the life of the fan.
Specifications
Cover
The metal fan cover provides a durable and robust construction.
The units have been designed so that both motor and fan wheel fit within the length of the cover.
The motor is located outside the air stream in a tunnel that passes through the casing, which makes the fan suitable for temperatures up to +200 ℃.
All parts of the steel cover are roll-formed, welded and then hot-dip galvanized.
Engines
The motors are foot mounted and completely enclosed according to IP55, equipped with sealed bearings, surface treated according to industry standard and with class H insulation according to EN 60034-5.
Fan wheel
Flow-optimized fan wheels with adjustable vanes made of high-quality die-cast aluminum (LM6).
Impellers are factory set for angled for maximum performance.
The hubs are made of cast aluminum alloy (LM24).
